Watching and Knowing

Watched Winter Passing (2006) yesterday because Shanda wanted a movie that was “bittersweet” and that was about feelings like Nassun had – about fleeing and hoarding and parents and not being a child. About oppression and sadness and not getting what you need. It was a good match on all counts. I’m often able to give you a movie for a feeling, if you can take a moment to tell me a story about your feelings.

@Zooey is the saddest panda with no attachments, and it’s time to flee again. She has to give up everything – this movie is not subtle so she actually drowns a kitten – to be able to leave. But she does go, and faces the hoarding, and passes a season building a new thing and putting an old one to rest. It takes itself a little seriously but it’s pretty good. It’s got Ed Harris and Will Ferel in it, and it knows a out pain in a pretty convincing way. Do watch.

Watched the last Mr. Robot 4×04 “404 Not Found”, wherein Elliot and Darlene are both lost in seperate journeys. It’s moody and doesn’t really advance the big plot and half of it is shot in the snowy woods at night and half of it is a discussion with a drunk Santa about falling off the edge of the world. It’s real good. It knows invisible and unattached. It knows the danger of being seen. And the danger of chasing someone who doesn’t want to be seen. It’s on topic for me.

Watched a minute of The Good Place. It’s full of professional jokes and it’s designed to help trash people imagine that heists are a service to the world and not just a crime. It’s good to have sometimes.

Thought of an art heist today. Shared it with HA4H, in the hopes they might inspire me, or offer assistance. I’m not sure if I can make it go, but it would be cool if it worked, and I think plausible enough to try.

Back to work tomorrow, and back on the queue. Gonna take a long weekend though, so two short weeks in a row. And I’m feeling okay about the day job in general, which is nice.

If a dragon had a capstone, what would it be? How would it be animated?
