Duck Two Ways

Did medium work today. Got deadline junk done. Pushed back the inevitable. But only put in short spurts of time.

Had a difficult therapy session, where I couldn’t expect to be understood because my therapist was overwhelmed. I often say things that are too much for people. This includes therapists. This is the state I have never recovered from. But today I tried a different thing – I stopped playing dumb – so maybe it will have a different outcome. Or at least I won’t continue to put up with it like I have before.

Planned a call but had a late day and unexpected and good interaction about L and Casting Aspersions. I hope you have a plan that you can like for this week, even if it’s a tinsy plan. Just proving to yourself that it can be okay instead of exclusively bad is very valuable.

Had some good duck for supper, delivered. Was expensive but was totally worth it. Helped me feel like a human on a day where that was hard. Not that there are a lot of days where that feels easy.

Argued with an insurance clerk today about how they disapproved of my signature for crazy reasons. So I formulated a letter that used earnestness to make them feel bad about assuming they know better than me. I can literally cite case law to refute their specific crazy claims, but in my experience being right is less effective at making people accommodate me than making them feel bad. It worked. Instead of making me resubmit they eventually decided everything was fine as-is, which was my goal.

Saw that we’re back in the same old spot with robot shirts, where it gets handed off to S who is afraid to make it go, and who for some reason feels like they are required to be responsible. I’ll have to design a heist that lets them give up this job that they hate, so we can have better shirts, on-time. I meant to pay attention this year but let it slip while I was sick. I can still help though, and maybe even demonstrate a path that will make next years easier by default. I also want to get our stuff on redbubble or somewhere so there are options other than t-shirts that match our team design.
